As we have gotten older we have stayed away from going to parties and doing stupid stuff like drinking and driving. This year for New Years Eve we have no plans except to go to bed early and get a good nights sleep while all the foolish people are out getting thrown in jail for drinking and driving. I am a bit old to get my first DUI and in no way shape or form do I intend to start being foolish now. The two worst days for doing our job are New Years Eve and St Patricks Day, they seem to be the days that every one wants to start drinking and driving. On those days I just stay off the roads as much as I can as try to stay safe.

We got our tickets today for our trip this spring to Sea World Orlando Florida. The kids are very excited for this trip to get here they have always wanted to go to Sea World in Orlando Florida, and this will be our first trip there. Mindy McCready is in the news again here in Nashville. She has attempted suicide for the third time, not only can she barely sing she is not very good at attempting suicide either. This looks to me to be a very weak attempt to keep her name in the news long after her 15 minutes of fame have expired. Let us just hope that she can get the help she needs and I hope she figures out that she does not need to be in the news every week to have a good life.

One of the high points of the holiday season for me are the Christmas lights and the holiday parades that go on every year around this time. We took our Grandson David to his first holiday parade this year and he loved it. He has already started to notice the Christmas lights on the houses and that has never been a huge attraction to him before. I think this would be a good year to take him to see the huge display of lights at the OpryLand Hotel, I think they would make a huge impression to him. Six year old boys have a lot going on in their lives and if they can stop and notice the nice things in life that is a huge plus as far as I am concerned.
