Labor Day

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Labor Day weekend is when we usually have our last summer fun, we have plans to BBQ this weekend and head over to the lake on Sunday. One good thing about living in Nashville we have nice weather well into October and can still go to the lake and have some fun but not as many people will be there after this weekend so more fun for the few of us adventurous enough to venture out after Labor Day. I am not ready to put the boat away just yet we still have a lot of nice weather left in this year and we plan to make the most out of it.

Mole killer

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

My girl dogs have turned out to be mole killing machines, Dottie and Diva both as soon as we take them outside run to where the moles have been digging up our yard and start hunting, I know that Jack Russell’s are natural born hunters and it sure shows with these two huntresses. Between them they have killed 8 moles with Crash adding one to the total. Come on boys only one mol;e between three of you and 8 for the two girls, I would be embarrassed.

New Cd

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

This week I have done something that I never do, that is to buy new music. I have ordered a couple of new CD’s without hearing them first, that is something I never do, I have gotten junk to many times to ever want to buy a big in the poke so to speak. I always try to hear a CD before I go ahead and order it when it first comes out to the market. I like to wait until the newness has worn off to get my music. I hope the new Kid Rock and Tom Petty are good is all I can say.

Big concerts this year

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

Boy the last couple of month this year there are some huge concerts planned for here in Nashville, including the Eagles and Bruce Springsteen, those two alone make a year for many venues. There is a lot of live music to enjoy here in Music City, a lot of it is new performers trying to make a name for themselves, and that makes for some very exciting opening acts, and do not forget that the thrill of the walk on guest is pretty high here too, you never know who will be in town recording. At a Don Williams concert a few years ago they announced there would be a special act and out walked Keith Urban and he did an acoustic set that was outstanding.

New animals

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

We have a few yard art animals scattered about in our yard and we have made a few new additions to the group this summer. We have added 2 little frogs to go with the big frog we have out by the front road. We have a huge snake by our dog wood tree and a rat that sits on top of our garden hose roller box. We are always on the look out for critters to add to the motif of our front yard. You can take the boy out of the country but you can not take the country out of the boy.
