Labor Day

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

Monday is Labor Day and like most years I have to work on this holiday. A lot of people have the extra day off and some times I wish I was one who got holidays off. It has been many many years since I had a paid holiday off and I guess it will be many more years before it happens again. When you work for yourself it is hard to get paid days off, when you do not work you do not get paid and not getting paid is not in my plans. I hope that everyone has a nice holiday.

Time to renew

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

At the end of this month I will have to renew my auto insurance on a couple of my work vans, in the mean time I will be looking for a new insurance carrier to insure my vehicles. The one that has caught my eye is Autonet Van Insurance, they have a lot of different plans that would be perfect for all of my work vehicles. The need for good auto insurance has never been higher than it is right now, so many people do not have any insurance at all and some that do have insurance do not have the proper coverage.

I always try to keep the very best insurance on my vehicles and to help me find the right insurance I have been checking a lot of different insurance web sites and the people at Autonet Van Insurance have been very helpful and their assistance in finding the proper insurance for my work vehicles has been very helpful and I think that I have found the right insurance company for my work vehicles. It makes me feel a lot better when I know that my work vans have the proper insurance on them and that I am covered no matter what kind of trouble my drivers have while driving my work vans.

Price of gas

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

For 50 days in a row the price of gasoline has climbed, this is a record that I wish we had not broken. In California today the price of gasoline went over $3.00 a gallon. It will not be much longer and our business will begin to suffer from the rise of our expenses. I do not know how much over $3.00 a gallon we can stand we have just begun to recover from the high price of gasoline late last year. I hope we can survive but it looks gloomy in our future with the rising price of gasoline.

Family business

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

The restaurant and bar that has been in my family for 40 years is doing well and good in these tough times. We had to find another chain of restaurant supply companies to keep the flow of good to the restaurant but we have done that with finding Kitchen Gadgetry, they are a nice restaurant supply house that has filled all of our needs for our family restaurant.

New gear for Eric

Friday, May 29th, 2009

One of my buddies from the old neighborhood has scored a job with the Mt. Juliet Police Department. We met up at the gas station, late last night, and he was telling me about UPS bringing his new Aimpoint comp m3 scope delivery today. They brought it to his house just before 5:00 and his wife called to tell him it arrived and was waiting for him when he got off his shift.

Eric has always wanted to be a cop. He would even come to high school dressed in tactical pants and the blue short sleeved shirts made of polyester that the local cops wear. I’m sure he wore that to all his college classes, too.

Sometimes I would go to the gun range with him after class. There are two good outdoor ranges near the house and one good indoor range. Eric and his dad have a good collection of guns, from antique pistols to shotguns and even some military weapons. Of course, they are all registered and legal, and kept locked up. Only a total idiot would ever try to break into their house and steal any of their guns.

Eric told me about a web site for G G & G, one of the best known sources for all kinds of weaponry gear and accessories, like scopes, slings, night vision and bipods. They have a big warehouse in Arizona and ship all over the world. Pretty much everyone in law enforcement or the military knows about G G & G.’
