Shock

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

Today we received the shocking news of the death of local hero Steve McNair. Not a lot is known yet, I am sure more will come out on Sunday. It looks at first blush like a murder suicide. The young girl that he was found with looks to be his new girlfriend and I am sad for his wife and family if this is as it seems. I wish the best for his family and the grief it brings will be very tough for his young boys to handle. It is a sad day for the city of Nashville and for the Steve McNair family.

Pop King dies

Friday, June 26th, 2009

When I got home from work yesterday I was shocked to see the king of pop had passed away. Michael Jackson has never been one of my musical idols but his passing at the young age of 50 was very shocking. The world will be a worse place today with Michael Jackson how has made many people happy with his music, like I said I am not a fan but I too will miss him. God must of needed a new singer today.

Swine flu

Monday, April 27th, 2009

It is very troubling to see the news reports of the outbreak of swine flu in Mexico and in the United States. We do not travel a lot anymore and that is a good thing for this reason, we will not be exposed to the swine flu in Nashville unless someone we come in contact with has been exposed to it somewhere else.

It is very disturbing to see all the people sick in Mexico and I hope they get this outbreak under control very quickly to save as many people as possible.

Season over

Monday, April 13th, 2009

The season for the Nashville predators came to an end on Friday with an 8-4 loss to the Minnesota Wild hockey team. I am not sure if this was a good season or not, the team did better than most people including myself thought that they would and they were in the playoff chase until the very last game. I only went to a few games this year and wish I had been able to go to more, maybe next year we can make a few more games than we did this year. It will be a long off season for many hockey fans like me.

Today a passenger plane went down in the Hudson River and despite the crash no one was injured all of the passengers and crew were rescued. It was a major feat for the rescue personnel to get all of those people back to dry ground and they lost no one to the icy river was amazing to me. I am sure when we get the rest of the story that story will be filled by many stories of heroes and brave people. I am very glad that no one was hurt and every one is safe.
