Sick dog

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

One of our puppies is sick and we have to take him to the vet this morning. Crash is a very loving puppy and it hurts me a lot to see any of my dogs sick. They are more like children than pets and we treat them like that. We take them on rides in the country and give them all kinds of treats when they have been good dogs. I hope Crash is ok and we can get our lives back in order after his visit to the vet today.

Escape

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Last night, as I was walking two of my dogs, Buck our biggest male dog took it upon himself to open the door and do not ask me how he did it, but he got the front door open and took off in the night. Of course he did not have his collar on so he did not have his dog tags with him. I put up the dogs I was walking and took off down the street after him, after what seemed at least an hour I found him three blocks away and got him back in the car and went home but it sure put a stop to any activities I had planned for last night. I still do not know for sure how he got the closed front door open I am amazed at his intelligence at times.

Lake

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

One of the things that I really like about living right near the lake is all the birds that have made our neighborhood their home. We have everything in our skies from an eagle to hummingbirds and everything in between. We have some very pretty cardinals and orioles to catbirds. It sometimes messes with the dogs, having all the birds in the yard but that is one of the perils of having a lot of wildlife in your yard. Add in the rabbits and squirrels plus the occasional deer and we almost have a zoo going on here.

Life is going to the dogs

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

We have over the years have spent thousands of dollars on toys for our dogs, every new toy that we see we get. You of course know that the toys that they like to play with the most are an old tennis ball and a rubber ball that did not start out as a rubber ball. it had feet and they chewed them off and thats the toy that they like to fetch. We get them all kinds of treats and the one they like the best is a chicken jerky we buy at Sams Club. I know they are spoiled but they are like our kids and we try to treat them good. We love our dogs like our own kids.

Sunshine on my shoulders

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Sunshine on my shoulders is a line from a song from the 70’s that I really like John Denver was a singer that I could listen to any day or time. I got to thinking about this song while walking my dogs this morning. Every time the sun went behind a cloud it got cold and I finally had to put on a jacket, I do not know why I thought of that song but I finally wound up singing the song, I think my dogs had thought I had lost my mind. I am really enjoying the day with no rain, and it looks like we will have some very nice weather the next week or so, we are ready for it.
