Last night was a rough one for sure, the newspapers showed up almost 2 hours late and I had a driver not call or show up, makes it pretty hard on an old man but we got it done. Once the traffic starts in Brentwood it becomes a demolition derby and you do not want to be delivering papers in that mess. I have to fire that driver today and start the search for a replacement. the fun just never stops and the sun never shines on the same butt twice.
Harassing phone calls have been the bane of my existence since I started my delivery business, and I needed a way to get these calls to stop. My cell phone has Caller Id – I think they all do. But the caller ID doesn’t say who is calling unless you have already talked to that number and saved it in your address book. So when I get a call and it just shows an unknown number, I often don’t bother to answer it. But sometimes I do want to know who it was that called – especially if they don’t leave a voice mail message.

For my 50th birthday the family has planned no party, no gifts, I am not sure they even realize that it is my birthday or as I fear no one really cares. I got a card form my mother in law and a call from my sister in Oklahoma. One of the guys at work gave me a card tonight so all is not lost I guess I will just go eat my piece of chocolate covered cheesecake and whine to myself for the rest of the night about my misery. Maybe I will get taken out to dinner for my next birthday, but I will not hold my breath and wait to see if that is the case.
This year we will not be buying season tickets to the Nashville Predators, we will just be going to individual games as we desire to go. It seems the team really does not care about their fans at all. In the 3 years we had season tickets I got zero shirts that I could wear out of the 20-25 t-shirts we received none fit me or for that part a lot of the fans that attend every game, and while that seems petty, to me it is important to get stuff just like the other fans who pay the same money that I do to get in the gate, and no more bobble heads? what are they thinking?
